Life & Health Insurance · Independent Brokerage
Before insurance is an asset class, it is a promise: that your family's life keeps running if yours is interrupted. We plan your protection as a whole — then compare price, contract wording and claim reputations across 8+ of Canada's leading carriers to find the one that actually fits.
The coverage you need
Almost no one needs all six. We map your exact needs first, then recommend only what protects your family and your income.
The cheapest way to cover your life — or your mortgage. Pick the term that matches the risk: 5, 10, 20 or 30 years, to 65, or for life. Most term can later convert to permanent without new medical evidence — which makes the "cheap" option surprisingly strategic.
Coverage that never ends and premiums that never rise: Term-to-100, universal life, non-participating whole life. Right when the need is permanent — final expenses, estate tax, a guaranteed inheritance. For permanent coverage that also builds wealth, see participating whole life.
A tax-free lump sum on diagnosis of a covered condition — cancer, heart attack, stroke and typically 20+ more. Replace income, pay for private treatment, or protect your savings while you recover. As Dr. Marius Barnard put it, you need it not because you'll die, but because you'll live.
A tax-free monthly income if illness or injury keeps you from working — mental-health conditions can qualify. Your ability to earn is likely your biggest asset; for self-employed professionals and owners without group coverage, this is the policy most often missing.
The costs provincial plans don't cover: prescription drugs, dental, vision, paramedical and more. Valuable if you're self-employed or between group plans — and for incorporated owners, a health spending account often does this job with better tax treatment.
Coverage for Canadians travelling abroad or out of province, visitors to Canada, super visa applicants and international students. One hospital day here can cost thousands — see the travel insurance page for the full lineup.
“A policy of life insurance is the cheapest and safest mode of making a certain provision for one's family.”Benjamin Franklin
Our edge · why go through us
For the same person and the same coverage, premiums can differ by 30% or more between insurers, because each prices its own sweet spots — some favour non-smokers in their forties, some are lenient on family history, some are the clear choice for larger face amounts. An advisor tied to one company can't shop that spread. We can — and price is only the first of four dimensions we compare.
We quote the same term or CI across Canada Life, Sun Life, Manulife, Equitable Life, iA, Desjardins, Canada Protection Plan and Foresters — then hand you the carrier whose pricing sweet spot matches your age, health and face amount. The spread is often hundreds of dollars a year, for a contract that looks identical on paper.
Cheap term is only smart if it keeps doors open. Conversion deadlines, and which permanent products you can convert into with no new medical, differ sharply by carrier. We pick the term whose conversion privilege still fits the life you might have in fifteen years — not just the lowest premium today.
The same coverage can pay out in very different ways. A critical-illness contract's loss-of-independent-living benefit, for example, may be paid as a single lump sum or as a monthly income — the right form depends on whether you'd need capital at once or ongoing support. We match the contract to how you'd actually use it, feature by feature.
Some tiny "terms and conditions" exclude the very situation you bought the policy for. We read the fine print across carriers, weigh each insurer's claim experience — not just its rate — and lay out the pros and cons in plain language. Multi-dimensional comparison, one tailored recommendation.
Getting it right
Insurance has a cost. We find your exact need so you never overpay, and we manage the application so you're approved standard — not rated.
You don't need insurance because others have it — you need it because your family does: to replace income, protect savings, or shelter against loss. We use one of the industry's best tools to quantify your exact number first. No exact number, no product talk.
Without planning, an application can be rated or declined — and a decline follows you to every future application. We know where each carrier is strict and where it's lenient, prepare your health profile ahead when needed, and submit with a cover letter that answers the underwriter's questions before they're asked. We're proud of our high standard-approval rate.
Needs are dynamic. Paid off the mortgage? Coverage need likely dropped. Left a job to start a business? Group benefits need replacing with family coverage. New child? Update beneficiaries. We review every client's protection annually — never under-covered when it matters, never over-paying when it doesn't.
“You need insurance not only because you are going to die, but because you are going to live.”Dr. Marius Barnard · co-developer of critical illness insurance
Carriers we work with
We're independent advisors licensed with the country's major carriers. Each is particularly good at something — our job is knowing which one is right for your situation, and negotiating the market on your behalf.
The country's largest insurers — deep par accounts, strong conversion options and the broadest product shelves for family and estate coverage.
Consistently sharp pricing on term and critical illness, and some of the most flexible living-benefit and whole life designs in the market.
Competitive rates across life and health, strong disability and critical illness contracts, and excellent options for business owners.
Specialists in simplified and no-medical underwriting — real solutions for clients whose health history makes standard coverage difficult.
Fair warning
If you already own a policy, don't cancel it to buy a "better" one without a line-by-line comparison. Existing contracts often carry guarantees, conversion rights and stability periods a new policy can't match — and a lapse in coverage during underwriting is a risk you carry alone. We'll tell you when keeping what you have is the right answer.
Client voices
I never thought an insurance advisor would be among the people I was most eager to see when tragedy struck. Wenting went the extra mile through the claim — I received $500,000 within two weeks. When we bought the policy she told us to look past the lowest premium to the best claim experience. Now I know how much that matters.
Lily H. · a mom with two sons
A relative helped me apply for critical illness two years ago and I was declined — I thought I could never get a policy. The Wealthi team spoke with underwriting many times and prepared a detailed cover letter before applying. I was approved — standard. Thank you, Wealthi.
Jordan D. · business analyst
I needed life insurance but my budget was limited. Wenting represents many insurers, so I could compare the same product across providers — she found me the cheapest price for the same coverage. Very happy with the service.

Why Wealthi · what you walk away with
A policy is a promise you hope never to test. If that day comes, three things will have already decided everything — the price you locked in, the wording you signed, and the people in your corner:
Identical coverage is priced 30%+ apart across 8+ carriers, because each insurer has its own sweet spots. We shop the whole spread and lock it in while you're healthy — often hundreds of dollars a year saved on a contract that reads the same on paper.
A rushed application can come back rated or declined — and a decline follows you to every future insurer. We prepare your file, know where each carrier is lenient, and answer the underwriter's questions before they're asked. Jordan was declined elsewhere; with us, approved standard.
We weigh claim reputations and read the fine print before you buy — then stand beside your family through the claim itself. Lily's $500,000 arrived within two weeks. On the worst day, arguing with an insurer is the one job your family shouldn't have.
